These lead ropes are made with 9/16 polyester rope and are 12 feet long. The polyester rope (see below) is made in the USA and our leads are hand spliced by Big Sky Tack the great state of Montana. Your purchase helps support a small business. Our polyester rope has a great feel to it. Not too stiff, not too soft. Each lead has an eye splice on one end to attach it directly to the halter or to a clasp of your choice (not included). The other end has an end splice with a quality leather popper. Because both ends are spliced and not melted, you don't have to worry about fraying or unraveling or the rope. We offer dozens of different colors and color combinations. About the Rope: Double braid polyester, also known as yacht rope is the best quality equestrian rope on the market. Polyester is UV, rot, stretch, stain and abrasion resistant. Professional trainers around the world use this type of rope as well. You get the quality of the professionals at an affordable price. Other lead ropes may be listed as poly rope but that does not mean they are polyester. Most are Polypropylene which is a lower quality rope.
